Dear All;
As part of our enriched summer session we are offering a new class, taught by professional stage designer, artist, educator Elena Miroshnichenko (see her web site to get acquainted with her current and past projects). Elena has just finished her work in one of Moscow’s most prominent theatres, doing comprehensive set design, and is now settled in Montreal as a free-lance stage and costume designer. She is looking forward to combining her main work with teaching young children the art of stage decoration, puppet theatre, book illustration and more.

Puppet Theatre & Decor
6 years old and older

In this class children will use a variety of artistic techniques and materials, such as: papier-mache, beads, paints and paper, clay and scrap. They will create their own characters, invent their roles, animate and learn to run a puppet show.
They will experience:
Shadow Theatre
Hand-made doll houses/farm houses, Noah’s Ark, populating them with characters/puppets
Holiday actions, costume design & preparation (Halloween, Purim, Christmas etc.)
Home decoration projects (toys, gift cards etc.)

Hand-made Books
The final play will be performed with the help of our musical students.
