Я тут начала волонтерить в очень интересном месте и решила поделиться с форумом своими впечатлениями — тут много кошатников.
Шатопия — приют для породистых кошек, который находится на Намюре, через дорогу от SPCA, и, я так поняла, оттуда же и получает большинство своих постояльцев.
Породы всякие, в-основном пушистые и очень пушистые, возраст тоже разный. Компания довольно пестрая и веселая, примерно половина рассажена по клеткам и комнатам, а половина гуляет на свободе по коридору и открытым комнатам приюта. . Утром после кормежки производят хитрую рекогносцировку, некоторых кошек изолируют и остальных из клеток выпускают погулять. Но все равно при этом следят, чтоб не обижали друг друга.
Народ за породистыми кошками приезжает отовсюду, даже из Америки и Ванкувера. При мне молодая пара приехала из Торонто усыновить очень симпатичного котика — шотландскую вислоухую.

Он жил в одной комнате с двумя сиамскими котиками. Мы когда первый раз зашли в эту комнату, Ричард, мэнэджер, говорит мне: Сядь на стул! Я села, а он начал отсчет: 10, 9, 8… На счете 1 один из сиамских котов запрыгивает мне на колени и начинает тереться — очень дружелюбные создания :D :twisted:

    She is a beautiful affectionate and loving Persian mix beauty with green eyes.
    She is about 5 y/o and declawed. Her owner did not want her anymore with her buddy Zoro.
    She was transferred to us from another shelter because she had stopped eating and now is doing very well and is ready for a new home.
    It would be ideal an environment without dogs and no small children.[/i:1f5dghbz]

  3. Here’s an update for our adopted cat Patton. His owners write the following:
    "It’s now almost 6 months that Patton lives with us and we’re very grateful.
    I don’t think we could be any happier. Patton is doing great, has gained a bit of weight, his coat has grown back a lot.
    Since the very beginning we see positive changes in his behavior every week, not that he was bad of course but reserved (and we respect that).
    He likes to follow us around the house, he is quick and playful. I believe him and Nero think they’re still kittens at times :)
    And when he needs to be quiet, he finds a place to climb up where he’s still close but by himself observing us
    (and away from Nero — hehe I know you can’t reach me here!)

  5. Cat of the week *Lauren*
    She is a young Snow shoe who was found in the middle of the woods luckily
    by a kind surveyor in the area who brought her to a shelter where she was transferred to us.
    She is about 8 months old and a wonderful loving cat.

  6. UPDATE on "Taffeta" now known as "Lola" who was 1 of the 14 Persians that we rescued in January of this year.
    Here she is now and what she was before. A huge thank you to all the donors that have supported these beautiful cats
    allowing them a chance to find a new life. Now an adored family member living with her awesome Mum Carolyn! Happy Tails!!!

  7. " Sophia" had her surgery today and all is well. She could not wait until we had the funds!
    It is a calcium stone and with a simple food change, she will no longer suffer.
    Thank you to Dr. Floyd, Amanda and all the staff at Baker Animal Hospital.

  11. UPDATE on our ADOPTED cat "Ricky". His owner write the following;

    "I haven’t found a new name for Ricky yet…I’ve been going back and forth between Edgar (fancy)
    and Pringles (not so fancy but that’s what his color reminds me of and, well, he loves to eat so a food name would be appropriate).

    In any case, this little cat is so FANTASTIC! He has two speeds: play and lounge. He’s very, very friendly with everyone who’s come to visit, including the children.
    He’s fun, funny, curious, affectionate and very self-assured. He and the dog are in the process of making friends.
    In fact, he’s already taken possession of her dog bed and blanket despite the fact that I bought him his very own (which now belong to the dog).
    I’m confident that he’s pretty satisfied with his new life here, especially since I know that he’d complain LOUDLY if he didn’t… like he does every day around dinner time!

    Truly, he’s just the absolute best cat. I love every quirky thing about him!

    That someone wouldn’t want him boggles my mind. Thank you so much for all your efforts and devotion."

    Цены отличаются на котят и взрослых кошек.
    В субботу открыты с 10 до 16. Адрес: 7340 Mountain Sights corner Jean Talon ( Métro Namur)
    Трудно сказать, кто из кошек будет к тому времени, приходите и смотрите :)

    Я не могу сейчас сказать, там ситуация всё время меняется, но политика приюта такова, что все взрослые кошки проходят через стерилизацию.

  25. Мне просто вообще сиамские кошки нравятся, их повадки, характер. я не знаю, смогу ли я взять вторую кошку, но мне сиамские коты у меня вызывают особенное восхищение. Интересно, попадаются они или нет…

    All we ask is that you are able to work 1 3 hour shift during the week or weekend, more if you’d like (sometime between 10am and 2pm).

    Обычно разбирают всех, рано или поздно. Этот приют особенный, там только породистые кошки, к тому же там почти семейная обстановка: кошкам дают имена, лечат, расселяют по комнатам, изучают характер и повадки.
    То есть делают все, чтобы вернуть их к нормальной жизни. Мне кажется там вкладывается столько любви и заботы, что новые хозяева просто не могут пройти мимо и не взять кошку.
    Насколько я знаю, усыпляют только тех, кого не удалось вылечить.
    Один из последних случаев — бенгальца спасли от голодной смерти.

    это тот, которого ты раньше показызвала? а что с ним было, болел? бенгальцы — самые чудесные коты на свете, но порода еще настолько молода, что здоровьем не отличаются. у меня было 2 бенгала, оба умерли совсем молодыми.

    Сама я давно уже там не была (это тем, кто иногда задает мне вопросы в личке), но слежу за ситуацией в приюте и новыми "поступлениями".

    I am a beautifully spotted SAVANNAH. I am about a year old and a very active girl.
    I was one of 36 cats brought to Chatopia after a backyard breeder had her cats seized by the police in July 2015.
    I had my tail cut and my spine is fused on the 5th and 6th vertebrae. I was seen by a specialist and I am fine except I have a funny walk.
    I can jump, and play and I am SOOO affectionate. All I need now is a great family.
    Fujii would do best in a home with no dogs or young children.

  49. Apple
    Apple is a Highland lynx and was released to us after a police raided a backyard breeder and seized 74 plus cats.
    She and an additional 45 cats made it into our care and have been undergoing treatment for a bacteria that is finally starting to heal.
    This bacteria looked similar to a cold and after almost 6 months of treatments these loving cats are ready for new homes!
    Apple would be happy in a home without dogs.

    Sadly my owner died and I found myself at a shelter with my other feline roommates.
    I was very depressed but have perked up now that I have been in a foster home.
    I am a loving girl and affectionate…I just want another family to love me like I was loved before.
    I am 9 years old and someone said I was too old for them…they never even gave me chance….will you?
    Capucine will be happier in a home as the only pet and no young children.
