The Infrastructure Manager (IM) is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and application infrastructure. They are the technical expert that leads a team of system administrators, DBAs, and developers responsible for the daily support and maintenance of clients’ technology infrastructures, ranging from simple to complex on-premise installations, as well as Cloud based multi-tenant environment. The goal of the IM is to ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of all internal and user facing computers under their management. The IM is a business critical role that includes managing developer operations, owning data centre and hardware decisions, and providing architectural direction on future systems.
[b:3caii2xn]Responsibilities [/b:3caii2xn]
Each employee is responsible for doing whatever is needed to ensure the success of the company and protecting its systems and information. In addition, this role also has these other specific responsibilities:
* Negotiate hardware and system contracts with data centers and vendors
* Be a senior point for technical escalation of hardware or system failures
* Acts as technical project manager for new and existing infrastructure projects
* Identifies areas to improve our technical environment and partner with Product Managers and Software Architects to approve and implement these suggestions
* Review and contribute to improving new process, procedures or new product roll outs
* Support and maintains all current technology
* Produce reports and reviews hardware utilization numbers each week with CTO
* Interviews, hires and retains top talent for the infrastructure team
* Develops and enforces best practices
* Participates in senior technology meetings with peers
