Role Overview
Company is seeking an experienced Unix/ LINUX (RH) Administrator. Key skills focus on RH Linux installation, configuration, tools development, scripting, monitoring, reporting, documentation / knowledge transfer and problem solving. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participate in build out of large server farm for HPUX to Linux migrations project
Participate in definition of automation and performance solutions
Participate in establishment of backups, monitoring, patching, firmware, ongoing maintenance Create / update / participate in build process and operations documentations
Ensure systems health and best practices are implemented
Work with vendor / tickets to resolve issues requiring vendor participation
Adhere to Change management processes (plans for implementation approvals
Participate in project planning and implementation (design / implement /support)
Participate in HW setup according to ongoing maintenance best practice
Requirements
5+ years of strong knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux
5+ years of strong knowledge of commercial Unix Operation Systems
5+ years of strong scripting and automation skills
5+ years of experience in the area of IT infrastructure (Data Center HW, cabling, SAN, Networking)
Virtual infrastructure installation, management, administration experience
Ability to perform critical systems troubleshooting and support
Participate in on-call rotation for off-hours support of Data Center and systems
Preferences
Skills and experience in the areas of Linux on x86 server architecture, tools development and integration in a large scale environment are preferred
Ability to work well under time constraints and to meet deliverable due dates
Work well in team environment building new infrastructure and operational processes
